Overview

The Austrian Embassy at Džidžikovac 7 in central Sarajevo manages Austria's bilateral relationship with Bosnia and Herzegovina. Austria is one of Bosnia-Herzegovina's most important European partners — the two countries share deep historical, cultural, and economic ties dating to the Austro-Hungarian era. Visa Services

Visa and residence title applications: Monday to Thursday 08:00-12:00. Bosnia-Herzegovina citizens require a visa for the Schengen area. The embassy processes short-stay Schengen visas (Type C) and national visas (Type D). Applications must be submitted in person with biometric data collection. Processing time typically 15 calendar days.

Consular Services

Austrian passport issuance: Monday to Thursday 12:00-13:00. The embassy provides passport services, notarial acts, and emergency consular assistance for Austrian citizens in Bosnia-Herzegovina. Consular services available for the entire territory of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
