Overview
The Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Vienna is the primary mission for Austria and supports a large Bulgarian community. It coordinates consular services, citizen assistance, and bilateral cooperation, and hosts cultural programming through the Bulgarian Cultural Institute.
Visa Services
EU/EEA nationals do not need visas. Non-EU residents in Austria can apply for Bulgarian visas and residency services at the Consular Section, Rechte Wienzeile 13, 1040 Vienna. Consular Services
Passports and IDs, civil status (births, marriages, deaths), and notarial services are provided by appointment during consular hours (Mon–Fri 09:00–13:00). Book via phone or email and bring required documents listed on mfa.bg.
Trade & Export Support
The Commercial and Economic Section promotes trade and investment between Bulgaria and Austria, supporting Austrian companies with market insights and Bulgarian firms with Austria market entry.
Investment Opportunities
Highlights opportunities in energy, manufacturing, services, tourism, and technology; connects investors with Bulgarian authorities and incentives programs.
Business Support
Provides guidance on regulations, market access, and contacts with chambers and agencies in both countries.
Cultural & Educational Programs
The Bulgarian Cultural Institute (Haus Wittgenstein) hosts concerts, exhibitions, and literary events to promote Bulgarian culture in Vienna.
