Chilean Embassy in Rome

Embassy of Chile in Rome, Italy

Overview

The Embassy of Chile at Viale Liegi 21 in Rome's Parioli district represents Chile's interests in Italy and at the UN agencies based in Rome (FAO, IFAD, WFP). Italy and Chile share deep historical ties through the substantial Italian immigrant community in Chile — millions of Chileans have Italian ancestry, concentrated in the Valparaíso region and Santiago. This gives the bilateral relationship a strong people-to-people dimension. Italian companies are active in Chile's energy, retail, and infrastructure sectors (Enel is one of Chile's largest electricity distributors).

Visa Services

Italian citizens do not need a visa for tourist stays in Chile up to 90 days. For work, study, or longer stays, visa applications are processed by the consular section.

Consular Services

The consular section provides services to Chilean citizens in Italy: passport issuance and renewal, civil registration, powers of attorney, document legalisation, and emergency assistance.

Service Area

The embassy covers Italy and also serves as representation to FAO, IFAD, and WFP.
