The Embassy of Colombia in Beijing manages bilateral relations established in 1980 and growing in strategic importance. Chinese investment in Colombian infrastructure, energy and telecommunications is expanding. Colombia maintains consulates in Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong, and the embassy hosts an annual Colombian Film Cycle in Beijing that has become a signature cultural event.
