Art Gallery of New South Wales
Sydney
The leading state art museum in Australia, on a parkland site in The Domain overlooking Sydney Harbour. The collection covers Indigenous Australian art (the Yiribana Gallery is the largest permanent display of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art anywhere), Australian colonial and modern painting (McCubbin, Streeton, Whiteley), European Old Masters and Asian art, in two buildings — the original Naala Nura sandstone gallery and the 2022 Naala Badu wing across the land bridge.
