Overview
The British Embassy in Riga is the contact point for Latvian nationals applying for UK visas — visitor, student, work and family routes — submitted through the designated UK Visa Application Centre and decided by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI). The embassy also provides consular services for British nationals in Latvia: emergency assistance, passport applications, notarial services, and support for those in difficulty. The embassy is located at 5 J. Alunāna iela in central Riga. British leisure travel to Latvia is growing — popular highlights include Riga's UNESCO-listed Old Town and its outstanding Art Nouveau quarter, the Central Market housed in former Zeppelin hangars, the Baltic beach resort of Jūrmala, the castles and forests of Gauja National Park, and the Liv Coast and Cape Kolka.
